"It's Mine.... I
pay the mortgage on it"
The Honorable Rev. Amos Brown evicts Family in District Election
bid.
By Joseph Bolden PNN staff writer
The Honorable Reverend and Supervisor Amos Brown is moving from his Ingleside
home District West of Twin Peaks, in a House owned by the Third Baptist
Church, because political analysts believe he cannot get elected there.
He served an eviction notice to a family who has resided there for four
years. The family displaced are: a 64-year-old grandmother, disabled 27-year-old
son, and a 2-year-old grandchild.
Why is a low income family destabilized? ... The
Reverend/Supervisor A. Brown has to have a residence in District (11)
to continue a political career. In Amos Brown's own words: "It's my privilege
to own a piece of property. It's mine, I pay the mortgage on it. I pay
taxes and pay for the upkeep, within the law, I can move into my house
for whatever reason."
The Honorable, Reverend Amos Brown used the owner-move-in shuffle. In
a letter dated March 1, the family was given 30 days to move out of the
single family, two bedroom residence. The Honorable Reverend Amos Brown
is within his legal rights, the law is on his side, is there a higher
law? Ask Reverend Brown, he'd know.
Well, folks in November, remember The Honorable, Reverend Amos Brown's
view on families, the elderly, mentally disabled, and infant children.
Action speaks louder than words. When he's preaching a sermon, flashback
to his present, words, deeds-decide is Brown re-electable? Reflect clearly
before going to the polls.

- Janitor Strike Gets Messy In LA..
- Fair Pay For Fair Work.
- Strike Give LA. Dirt-In-Eye.
Los Angeles, Friday, April, 7, 2000
Jesse Jackson, Striking Janitor's, better pay for hours served sound
familiar? Martin Luther King's work is not done. Mr. Jackson and1,500
janitor's at a rally led to three arrests (so what else is new, except
most of the workers are immigrant doing a job made thankless. 21 demonstrators
were arrested for blocking a freeway off ramp and lead to three arrests
of two people who allegedly punched bicycle police officers, authorities
said. (What! no protester beaten to a bloody pulp, accidentally shot when
thought to have a weapon, and not set-up.)
Could LA.. police have learned their lesson or are they avoiding video
camera's aimed a their every move?
Nearly 8,500 unionized janitor's are pressing for a $1-an-hour raise
each year for the next three years. They now make between $6.80 and $7.80
an hour. The final offer from commercial building contractors was two,
40-cent hour boosts in the second and third years of the contract.
Don't you just know as the cost of living skyrockets that three year
raise will be paltry and to low? I don't know much about the dispute out
there; 'Heck, don't know much going on here though it seems to me Automatic
Cost Of Living each year will keep those hard workers in LA.. constantly
falling believe the ever deepening poverty line.
