Brotherly - What!?! by Joseph Bolden The case of Mr. Thomas Jones, /A Black American man, age 30. Remember him as a suspected carjacker pursued by Philladelphias Finest. He was subdued and badly beaten after a chase. Their own media skycam was rolling above live and caught four or six uniformed officers joined together to put down the suspect. One officer does a near Olympian jump /slide over a patrol car, Jones left in a failed escape, getting some kicks and punches in. Officer Michael Livewell, shot in the thumb. Ballistics tests show it was from another officers gun. Mr. Jones couldve faced all kinds of aggravated assault charges, added jail time plus the death penalty. Im thinking; "This blue police mob has already shot the guy five times and missed vital organs." What kind of police force is this? Have training guidelines become less leathal now, mearly to torture, maim, create pain? Question to police officers across this nation. What are the statistics of not only for accidental, or fatal, but real bonehead ways of getting your self-shot or shooting fellow officers? Can you email me or place this on some kinda "Darwin Award Website?" |
(Tuesday, August, 8 ) as a sliver of a back page story, a sidestrip of words on pages 5 and 9, in both of our local newspapers two small news items I read: The suspect Thomas Jones didnt shoot officer Michael Livewell, they cleared him of the cops injury, his thumb was blown off by another officers gun! OK, why the extensive media coverage (July 20, 21st ) of cops going after a criminal, When the "suspect was cleared" Tuesday, Aug. 8. 2000, since this didnt happen, the media didnt care. Little radio, or broadcast media, few newspapers did any follow-up stories or theyre on some tiny side strip under National, or World Datelines. All I say is. "If it began as front page news, it should end as front page news." The deadly truth: If police officer Michael Livewell or another officer whos name Ive forgotten, had been fatally wounded. In the adrenaline-surge aftermath, Jones wouldve indeed been tried as a copkiller. Prosecutors and police couldve fast-tracked Mr. Jones to jail, deathrow, and a one-way-injection/ ejection from his life. Bye. |
