Poor Magazine Will Not Survive Without Your Support!POOR is a literary, visual arts community based organization solely supported by grants, donations, and subscription sales. Any and all contributions are and appreciated and urgently needed. POOR Volume 3 was made possible by a Cultural Equity Grant from the San Francisco Arts Commission, and a grant from the Vanguard Foundation, as well as individual donations. POOR magazine works on a sliding scale distribution basis - We distribute magazines for free to very low and no-income communities. We are able to do this by selling magazines and subscriptions to organizations and individuals who are able to afford them. In this way, by purchasing a subscription or making a contribution you are creating change in the lives of poor and oppressed communities locally and nationally, i.e., a $100.00 subscription/contribution purchases six free subscription scholarships. |
